FAQ’S

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoids found in cannabis plants. Legally derived from hemp that contains 0.3% THC or less within the United States, CBD is typically part of a hemp extract that’s been infused into a product. There are a plethora of uses for cannabidiol, and many people report certain benefits that they experience after taking CBD as a part of their daily routine consistently.

Humans, as well as other mammals, have what’s known as an endocannabinoid system throughout our body. This system is made up of cannabinoid receptors, called CB1 and CB2. CBD may impact this system directly through one or both of these CB receptors.

There are no known incidences of illness caused by the consumption of any CBD oil product, much less our own. CBD is a safe, non-psychoactive cannabinoid with no indications that it could be unsafe. Furthermore, our products are batch-tested through an independent, third-party lab to ensure accuracy of cannabinoid content and to check the accuracy of the cannabinoid content level. Our products are broad-spectrum, which means they’ve been refined of all THC prior to testing. Lab results indicate there are non-detectable levels of THC in our products.

CBD is non-psychoactive, so it will not make you high. It doesn’t have the mind-altering or psychotropic effects that THC does, so there’s no way to feel high from CBD. Our products are also THC-free, meaning they don’t even contain the trace amounts of THC that are detectable in full-spectrum CBD products – which ensures there are no psychoactive effects from our CBD products.

While industrial hemp became legal through the 2018 Farm Bill, the differentiation between what hemp is and what CBD is can still be unclear for some people. CBD, or cannabidiol, is a cannabinoid that can be extracted from the hemp plant. Hemp is the plant, CBD is a phytocannabinoid that is pulled from it.

As more consumers learn there are stark differences between hemp and marijuana plants, the social acceptance for the non-psychoactive hemp variety grows ever stronger.

Now that hemp is legal from the 2018 Farm Bill, the legal definition for the distinction between the two plants is clearer than ever. Industrial hemp is defined as any cannabis strain that contains 0.3% THC or less. Marijuana plants encompass every other type of cannabis strain, including the THC-heavy varieties.

In the CBD world, we often see “broad-spectrum” and “full-spectrum” thrown around frequently to describe the type of extract a hemp product contains. Some may not be fully aware about what differentiates the two terms, however.

The “spectrum” these terms are referring to is the spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other hemp compounds found in a particular hemp strain.

A full-spectrum hemp extract contains the entire spectrum of the strain they selected – even the trace amounts of THC that can be found in many industrial hemp strains.

A broad-spectrum hemp extract, on the other hand, contains the entire spectrum from a CBD-rich hemp strain, but it’s refined of any and all THC. Through this extra step of refinement, the product becomes broad-spectrum instead of full spectrum, giving you the full potential of CBD with the other hemp compounds without the risk of THC.

As a side note, there are also CBD “isolates,” which is a pure CBD product that contains little to no other cannabinoids, terpenes, or additional hemp compounds.

Our products are mostly broad-spectrum, though we do have some beauty/skincare products that contain a CBD isolate to pack the full punch of CBD mixed with other essential oils and ingredients.

Because our products use broad-spectrum and isolate extracts, we’re proud to say they do not contain THC. In fact, each batch of our products is tested through an independent (and unbiased) third-party lab to ensure we stay true to that!

CBD, the cannabinoid, does not show up on drug tests, unless you’re taking an at-home drug test for THC. If you are, it can likely pop a positive drug test result because at-home tests are not typically advanced enough to be able to differentiate between the two cannabinoids. THC and CBD are almost molecularly identical, making it difficult to trust an at-home drug test if you are incorporating CBD into your daily routine.

Our CBD products, under normal circumstances, are not expected to produce any positive result related to THC consumption, but this is regarding testing methods that use sophisticated industry standards. Please be made aware of the potential for incorrect detection prior to use of this product and note that we do not represent or warrant the results any individual may experience while using our products.

Feel free to check out our lab results page, also available towards the top of our navigation bar, to see that our products contain non-detectable levels of THC.

CBD has the potential ability to help support the body’s attempt at homeostasis, promoting general wellness and improving overall health. Even if you’re already healthy, it’s common for those in our CBD community to incorporate CBD into their daily routine even if they have no specific conditions or symptoms that the product might be able to help tackle.

A high-quality CBD product that contains zero THC is safe for pets, which is precisely why we offer CBD dog treats that are tested to contain no detectable level of THC. While we certainly always recommend speaking with a veterinarian before adding CBD treats to your pet’s day, make sure you consult with one that is familiar with your pet and also knowledgeable about the uses and advantages of CBD related to pets.
